The Lexington Model Airplane Club (LMAC) was chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics, Inc. (AMA) in 1959 and has been in continuous operation since that time. The club maintains a membership of approximately 170 members, conducts monthly meetings and yearly elections. Membership is open to anyone with a desire to pursue the hobby of model aviation. The club conducts Radio Control and U-Control flying of miniature aircraft at a field located adjacent to the Lexington Land Fill.
